LAUSD’s Ref Rodriguez gives up presidency over campaign finance charges, will remain on board

The Daily News reports:
One week after being charged with perjury and other felonies for allegedly funneling $25,000 of his own money into his campaign by listing phony donors on a disclosure form, Ref Rodriguez today gave up his position as president of the Los Angeles Unified School District board.

Rodriguez will remain on the school board, but said he was stepping aside as president to avoid being a distraction.
It was for the children. The great moments of government schools.
